Blackberry Syrup
Blackberry Syrup
2 cup Fresh or Frozen Black Berries
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Add the berries, sugar and water to a small cooking pot
Bring the mixture to a slow boil
Simmer for about 20 minutes to soften the fruit
Pour the mixture through cheese cloth or a very fine sieve
Mash the fruit very gently to squeeze out all of the juice
Let stand until the mixture reaches room temperature.
This tastes great over ice cream!
