The Captain’s Spiced Pumpkin

Image courtesy of the Diageo Media Team

I thought I would share a nice recipe today to help everyone get in the mood for Halloween. It’s not in the vein of a scary spooky recipe, rather its in the vein of the Season of Harvest. After all the connection between pumpkins and Halloween was firmly established that first time Linus hid in the pumpkin patch waiting for The Great Pumpkin.

The Captain’s Spiced Pumpkin

1 ½ oz Captain Morgan’s Original Spiced Rum
¾ oz   Bols Pumpkin Liqueur
¼ oz  Agavero (Licor de Tequila)
½ oz. Apple Cider
½ oz. Lemon juice
sprinkle of *pumpkin spice (see recipe below)

Pour all the liquid ingredients over ice in a shaker
Shake until well chilled
Strain into a chilled Martini Glass
Garnish with *pumpkin spice

And Remember the aim of my Blog is to help you drink better spirits…. not to help you drink more spirits!

*How to Make Pumpkin Spice

1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
3/4 Tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 Tsp Allspice
1/2 Tsp Nutmeg

Thoroughly mix all ingredients
Store in a sealed glass jar
