Whiskey Sour
I prefer to mix my Whiskey Sour over ice as follows:
Whiskey Sour (on Ice)
1 1/2 oz Bourbon
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
3/8 oz Sugar Syrup
Large ice cubes
Slice of Lemon and/or Maraschino Cherry
Add the first three ingredients to a rocks glass over the ice cubes
Stir gently and serve
Garnish with a Lemon Slice and/or a Maraschino Cherry
Please Enjoy Responsibly!

Of course a more classic recipe is as follows:
Whiskey Sour (Classic)
1 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
3/4 oz lemon juice
1 tsp sugar syrup
1 Maraschino Cherry
Pour the bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a metal shaker with ice cubes.
Shake until the shaker chills Strain into a chilled glencairn glass.
Garnish with the Maraschino cherry.

Now in my locale Maraschino cherries are impossible to find. Instead they sell these yucky candied cherries in red sugar syrup. So if you are faced with the same problem as I am, here is a modified recipe that still provides that awesome hint of maraschino flavour:
2 oz Bourbon whiskey
1/2 oz lemon juice
1 tsp simple sugar
1/4 teaspoon Maraschino Liqueur
Chill a small rocks glass until it is very cold.
Aromatize the glass with Maraschino Liqueur.
(This can be done by pouring a little in the glass, swooshing it round and expelling any excess. The object is to coat the inside of the glass with a film of the Maraschino liqueur.)
Pour the bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a metal shaker with cracked Ice.
Shake until the shaker chills
Strain into the chilled rocks glass.
Garnish if desired with a small slice of Orange or Lemon.
