LeCompte Calvados 5 Year

LeCompte Calvados is an apple brandy from the Normandy region in France. Founded nearly 100 years ago, Lecompte Calvados is targeted to connoisseurs who appreciate the tradition, history and flavors associated with fine French brandies. The Lecompte distillery is based in the center of the Pays d‘Auge in the Notre Dame de Courson village. Centuries-old apple orchards consistently produce an array of the finest apple varieties in the region. Inside the distillery are 800 oak barrels distributed across eight individual cellars where the Calvados is slowly matured over time. New and larger oak barrels allow slow maturation of the Calvados, the amount of time depending on the flavor of each cuvee. The cuvee provides a blend of wood and fruit with a delightful variety of distinct aromas.

LeCompte Original (3 Year) is abundant with the fragrances of ripe apples, green pears, peach, and white grapes blended with spice and honey. The finish provides an aromatic balance of wood and apple. This Calvados is perfect as an aperitif or mixed in a cocktail.

LeCompte Calvados 5 Year is aged in oak barrels that results in a balance of fruit and vanilla flavors with a hint of wood.

LeCompte Calvados 12 Year features a balance between herbs and very ripe apples with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon resulting from maturing in a Port barrel over time.

For connoisseurs of old Calvados, Lecompte offers 25 Year Calvados that features complex aromas derived from prune, apple and rhubarb jam and may be enjoyed solo or with a fine cigar.
