Review: Roca Patrón Silver Tequila

Posted by Arctic Wolf on January 20, 2021

This year I am hoping to continue  update many of my tequila reviews, improving my suggested cocktails and where necessary editting my tasting notes and scores to be consistent with any changes which may have occurred that have affected the taste and quality of the agave spirit since my last review. I will also be adding new reviews to broaden the tequila category upon my website. Today I am looking at Roca Patrón Silver Tequila.

Patron currently sells three brands of tequila, their premium brand Patron , their artisanal brand, Roca Patron, and their luxury brand, Gran Patron. The company was created in 1989 when John Paul DeJoria, and Martin Crowley formed The Patrón Spirits Company with the stated singular goal of producing “the best tequila in the world.”

Roca Patrón Tequila is a pure 100% Agave Tequila made from agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.  The spirit is bottled at 45 % alcohol by volume, and is made completely from agave juice which has been extracted using a stone Tahona Wheel.

Here is a link to my full review:

Review: Roca Patrón Silver Tequila

“… The fruity agave is understated and has an herbal quality with hints of heather and mint riding at the edges of my perception. If I take my time with the glass I can sense a few light citrus notes (particularly lime zest) and the sense of mint seems to build up very gradually.  I am loving the subtle nuances I have found in the merry little breezes above the glass …”

Please enjoy my review, and my cocktail suggestions, the Rum Howler Margarita and Metro Mexico.

Chimo!
